Integrating gender at the heart of action for sustainable inclusion
From July 6 to 8, 2026, an activity focused on gender integration took place as part of the project “Livestock farming for the economic,
social, and nutritional inclusion of populations affected by leprosy and Buruli ulcer in the Kpélé, Avé, and Zio prefectures,” funded by
the Anesvad Foundation.
This activity helped strengthen understanding of issues related to gender and equal opportunities, aiming to foster equitable participation
by both women and men in the project’s various initiatives.
Through discussions, group work, and participatory reflection, participants were sensitized to the importance of considering the specific needs,
roles, constraints, and opportunities of women and men when implementing livestock farming activities.
💡 Integrating gender means taking action to ensure that everyone can participate, contribute, and fully benefit from opportunities.
This approach helps promote more equitable and sustainable economic, social, and nutritional inclusion for populations affected by
leprosy and Buruli ulcer in the Kpélé, Avé, and Zio prefectures.
