As part of the implementation of the project “Livestock farming for the economic, social and nutritional inclusion of populations affected by Leprosy and Buruli ulcer in the prefectures of Kpélé, Avé and Zio”, a field mission took place from September 20 to 22, 2025.

Led by the Christian Alliance for Integral Development team, accompanied by a civil engineering expert, this visit aimed primarily to guide the implementation of improved traditional chicken coops for the project’s beneficiaries. Technical discussions and observations took place in several locations:

Zio Prefecture: villages of Fongbé-Apédomé and Gati Soun;

Avé Prefecture: villages of Hékpé, Anyron, Zogbépimé, and Agbadjanaké;

Kpélé Prefecture: villages of Akata Dzokpé and Nyuiemabou.

 At each stage, the civil engineering expert provided technical guidance to ensure the strength, durability, and functionality of the planned infrastructure, while taking into account local realities and available resources.

 This mission also enabled the ACDI team to strengthen dialogue with the beneficiary communities, assess the progress of activities, and consolidate the foundations for sustainable and inclusive community livestock farming.

Through this project, ACDI reaffirms its commitment to promoting economic empowerment and improving the food and nutritional security of vulnerable populations affected by leprosy and Buruli ulcer.
